The all-new Honda Clarity plug-in hybrid set to launch in 2017

Published on January 31 2017

Honda surprised everyone recently by announcing the all-new Honda Clarity plug-in hybrid, a new model that will enter the market this year. In addition, Honda confirmed that a new, exclusively hybrid model would be launched in 2018.

These two new hybrid models are explained by Honda's goal that two thirds of its sales be hybrid powered vehicles by 2030. In addition, Honda said that half of its upcoming models would be powered by a hybrid engine.

As for Honda's next hybrid-only model, we do not have much information except that it will use the same engine that powers the Honda Accord Hybrid. The latter offers an average fuel consumption rating of 5.8 liters per 100 kilometers.

“Today, Honda Canada announced that its new product launch cadence would reflect the U.S. strategy as we prepare to introduce all-new alternative fuel vehicles to the Canadian market,” said Jean Marc Leclerc, vice president, sales and marketing, Honda Canada Inc.
