Introducing the 2016 Honda HR-V

Published on March 29 2016

Le phénomène des utilitaires compacts a pris le marché d’assaut. Il était donc tout naturel pour le fabricant de la berline préférée au Canada de joindre la compétition.

Only one piece of the puzzle was missing from the Honda lineup for a perfect balance and a presence in every segment. Completing the SUV family, the 2016 Honda HR-V was launched last year to measure up in the fastest growing category of vehicles on the market.

Honda is Taking the Compact Crossover Segment Up a Notch

The compact crossover phenomenon has taken the market by storm so it was only natural for Canada best selling sedan’s maker to join in the competition. Based on the already popular Honda Fit, the HR-V ups the utility ante yet in a compact and versatile format. Going up against the likes of the Mazda CX-3, Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X, the HR-V is currently considered one of the most practical offerings on the market. It was even nominated to the title of AJAC’s best new SUV under $35,000, finishing in second, only five points behind the CX-3. This nomination is the proof that once more, Honda have done their homework when it comes to designing an accessible, reliable and likeable vehicle.

The five seat compact utility vehicle provides ample room for all the passengers as well as a convenient 657L cargo volume that can be extended to 1,665L once the rear seats are folded down. The deep trunk floor and wide opening can easily receive bulky items such as a stroller or a sport bag, making it one of the most versatile compact utility vehicle currently on the market. Starting at only $20,690, the Honda HR-V also comes equipped with a generous list of entertainment and convenience features including Bluetooth streaming, Honda Link infotainment system with five-inch touchscreen display, wheel-mounted controls, speed-sensitive volume control, satellite radio, navigation, voice recognition, multi-angle rearview camera, heated seats, sms text message function and cruise control.

Ready to Impress Everyone's Tastes

The HR-V received the NHSTA five star safety rating as well, thanks to features such as brake assist, hill start assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning and Honda Lane Watch technology. The CUV is also available with optional AWD so that no destination is unattainable. Teamed with a 1.8L, four-cylinder engine, standard on all three trim levels, the powertrain comes with a manual six-speed transmission that can be upgraded to a CVT. Fuel economy averages 6.7L/100km on the highway, competing with most sedans currently on the market!

The all-new Honda HR-V is your chance to join all-wheel drive capability, convenient cargo volume and compact versatility, all in one vehicle. Come and see us at Orléans Honda to learn more about the latest Honda family member.
