Hope has Wheels: Honda Canada Partners with Canadian Cancer Society

On February 11th, 2020, Honda Canada Foundation announced a partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society by donating 10 Honda Odysseys that will be used as part of the Canadian Cancer Society Wheels of Hope transportation program. These Odysseys, true to their name (regarding a voyage with changes in fortune) will alleviate some of the challenges that people with cancer face every day by delivering these folks to and from their treatments safely and comfortably.

The Wheels of Hope transportation program is active in 4 provinces, Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. Volunteer opportunities are open to anyone with a valid driver’s license and a heart for a good cause. Meanwhile, Honda will cover the cost of the insurance and maintenance for the 10 minivans for the duration of the 2-year partnership.

Facts about the Canadian Cancer Society wheels of Hope Program:

  • In the active regions for Wheels of Hope, the Odyssey minivans will transport an estimated 2,500 passengers with cancer to and from their medical appointments.
